Nebst bislang noch unveröffentlichten Portraitfotographien aus dem Nachlass enthält dieser bibliophile Band sämtliche Gedichte Maria Lazars, die die Autorin über ihren Tod hinaus für die Nachwelt bewahren wollte. Die bislang unveröffentlicht gebliebenen Gedichte weisen Lazar als Dichterin von Rang aus. Ihre Themen und Motive – ja ihre unverwechselbare Sprachmelodie – führen den „unbekannten Leser“ direkt ins Zentrum des Lebens und des Werks einer Autorin, die in ihrem hellsichtig-mahnenden Gestus vergeblich ihresgleichen sucht in der österreichischen Literatur der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts.
